Dear Friends of the Digestive Health Foundation,
First and foremost, we hope you and your families are safe and well during this challenging time. In an abundance of caution regarding the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, the Digestive Health Foundation Gala scheduled for May 30, 2020 has been cancelled.
Thank you all so much for your ongoing commitment to transforming digestive diseases into digestive health by funding vital research, innovative care, and education at the Northwestern Medicine Digestive Health Center (NMDHC). We could not do this without your support!
Please be assured that the research continues. We are delighted to report that this week our annual grant-making program announced the funding of an unprecedented 13 new research initiatives bringing our total to 53 funded grants in just five years.
In addition, we continue to support the Stephen B. Hanauer Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Advanced Physician Fellowship; the Deborah and Martin Elrad Fund for Hereditary Digestive Diseases; Steven J. Stryker; M.D. Gastrointestinal (GI) Surgery, Education, and Research Endowment, and the DHF BioRepository. Further, we are currently exploring a sizeable collaborative grant in the area of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Mathematics in Gastroenterology.
On behalf of our Foundation board members, Gala committee members, staff, and physician leadership, we are profoundly grateful for your support during this critical time. We secured Saturday, June 5, 2021 as the date for next year’s Digestive Health Foundation Gala at the Four Seasons Hotel Chicago. We very much look forward to being together in better times and continuing our mission to raise funds to support critical digestive health research.
